Microsurgical spermatic cord denervation

Microsurgical spermatic cord denervation is an option for chronic testicular pain (orchialgia) that persists despite medical treatment. Under a surgical microscope, the nerves of the spermatic cord are selectively divided while preserving the testicular artery, lymphatic vessels, and the vas deferens.

By interrupting pain signals while maintaining blood supply, many patients achieve significant improvement or resolution of pain, with a fast, outpatient recovery.

It is usually considered when a spermatic cord anesthetic block confirms the source of the pain and other causes have been ruled out.
